The very beginning

The company Eifrig Media GmbH was founded long before the well-known app Blitzer.de app was introduced in 2010. That being the most important milestone, the history of the company goes back to the nineties though. We’re presenting to you the most important milestones in our company history.

  • young student Matthias Eifrig discovers his interest in the World Wide Web and the topic of traffic monitoring after having been caught himself by a speedcam.
  • Matthias founds the first German speedcam forum radarfalle.de. A platform that offers extensive information on traffic monitoring. Drivers report fixed speed cameras, which Matthias collects and makes available to users on the internet.
  • This year marks the founding of the popular Blitzer.de community: The new online forum radarforum.de offers a platform for personal exchange about speed cameras and fines.
  • Collected data are now being licensed to many well-known navigation manufacturers such as Navigon to be integrated into their products.
  • The website Blitzer.de goes online. Users can report speed cameras, upload photos and converse about single speedcams. The first speedcam app is released under the name SpeedLimit for Nokia/Symbian smartphones.
  • The brand Blitzer.de, which is by now well-known all around the world, launches its first free app on the German Apple App Store.
  • Blitzer.de PRO for iOS is released, being one of the first paid apps on the German Apple App Store. The PRO app offers more features and extensive settings. The Blitzer.de PLUS app for Android follows shortly after.
  • The Blitzer.de apps (internationally also known as CamSam) for iOS and Android impress with efficient and extensive reporting and warning systems. Currently, almost 5 million users benefit from it.
  • We are trying to stay at the heart of current digital trends and are constantly extending our services - just for you.
